Twenty five bloody pictures from The Exorcist Chronicles

It seems the “demon possession” genre has been experiencing a trend, giving us everything from INSIDIOUS to the uber-popular PARANORMAL ACTIVITY series to dreck like THE DEVIL INSIDE and, of course, upcoming flicks like THE POSSESION.

Now, a much darker take on the subgenre is coming in the form of Phillip Gardiner’s THE EXORCIST CHRONICLES, from which we have received twenty-five new (and pretty intense) stills. Really, this is some sick stuff, and I can’t help but dig it. Too often the formula for demon possession movies yields PG-13 results. Sure, there are some exceptions– THE EXORCIST series, DEMONS— but more recent movies have been playing it safe with the sex and gore quotient. Not so with THE EXORCIST CHRONICLES. The stills below are gory, intense, and atmospheric. Here’s to hoping the film itself lives up to such promise.

THE EXORCIST CHRONICLES stars Rudy Barrow, Liz Mente Bishop, Emma K. Robins, Nathan Head, Philip Berzamanis, Bob Lee, and Jack Burrows.
