Twisted Pictures' The Tortured gets a US release date after all these years

Apr. 18, 2012by: Eric Walkuski

How's this for a long wait: Twisted Pictures' THE TORTURED was first announced in April 2007. Yes, 2007. If you've been patiently keeping an eye on the flick's progress, even though it looked like it would never see the light of day (in the U.S., anyway), your diligence will pay off very soon.

IFC Films announced today that TORTURED will open in NY Theaters on Friday, JUNE 15th. Before that, it will become available on VOD, XBOX, iTunes, Sony Playstation, Amazon, and Sundance NoW on MAY 11th.

The synopsis: The perfect marriage of Craig (Jesse Metcalfe) and Elise Landry (Erika Christensen) is suddenly shattered when their young son is abducted and murdered. When the killer (Moseley) is brought to trial, he manages to plea bargain his way to a lighter sentence. Utterly outraged by this miscarriage of justice, the grieving parents decide to take matters into their own hands. They capture the murderer, imprison him and subject him to the same monstrous acts he perpetrated upon their defenseless child. The unforeseen consequences, however, challenge their ideas of vengeance, justice and the true nature of evil.

Extra Tidbit: Kind of a weird trailer, isn't it?

decent movie

I live in Canada and i actually bought this movie on Blu ray a while back at a blockbuster closing sale for around 4$. After watching, i've got to say that i wasn't really impressed by this movie. Still it's a decent genre flick with a couples of twist and turn and some decent torture scene, but in the end,it's not really worth seeing in theaters
