Two violent new clips from Pride & Prejudice & Zombies!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

I’m beginning to get the feeling no one really gives a hoot about PRIDE & PREJUDICE & ZOMBIES, around these parts and in general. There’s next to no buzz on it, and what buzz there is seems to come in the form of a very heavy shrug. I’m still willing to give it a chance, if only for this superficial reason: hot women in fancy dresses chopping zombies’ heads off. C’mon, folks, that’s got to count for something.

Sony has just released two new clips to help drum up some interest. The first gives us a look at Lily James and Lena Headey getting into a royal spat (after James shows off some neat fighting skills), while the second introduces Sam Riley’s Mr. Darcy, who has a very unique way of detecting dead flesh. (Apparently the dead can hide among the living?)

A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all.

Directed by Burr Steers, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES stars Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote, Douglas Booth, Matt Smith, Charles Dance, and Lena Headey. It opens February 5th.
