Vera Farmiga signs on for Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams anthology

The anthology Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams, which will consist of ten standalone episodes based entirely on stories written by Philip K. Dick (BLADE RUNNER, TOTAL RECALL, MINORITY REPORT, A SCANNER DARKLY, THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU, etc.), already had my attention, but now my interest in the show has received a substantial boost due to the announcement that Vera Farmiga has joined the cast.

I'm a big fan of Farmiga's from her work in the CONJURING films, Bates Motel, and various other things, so I will definitely be wanting to check out the episode of Electric Dreams that she's in.

Farmiga will be starring alongside Mel Rodriguez in an episode called Kill All Others. In this one,

a man hangs dead from a lamppost, apparently murdered and inexplicably ignored by passersby, after a politician (Farmiga) makes a shocking statement encouraging violence. When one man dares to question the situation he becomes an instant target.

Also in the episode are Jason Mitchell, Glenn Morshower, and Sarah Brown.

Kill All Others is being written and directed by Dee Rees, who recently started developing a horror film for Blumhouse Productions.

Coming from Sony Pictures TV and executive producers Ronald D. Moore, Michael Dinner, and Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston, Electric Dreams is being written by Rees, Moore, Dinner, Tony Grisoni, Jack Thorne, Matthew Graham, David Farr, and Travis Beacham. Dinner, Grisoni, and Farr are also directing episodes, as is Tom Harper.

The cast members of other episodes include Cranston, Greg Kinnear, Mireille Enos, Steve Buscemi, Timothy Spall, Jack Reynor, Benedict Wong, Geraldine Chaplin, Jack Gore, Rebecca Manley, Anthony Boyle, Rudi Dharmalingam, Tuppence Middleton, Anne Reid, Ann Akin, Hayley Squires, Tom Brooke, Nicole Agada, Marko Leht, Matthew Raymond, Naveed Khan, Justin Butcher, Georgina Campbell, Bekka Bowling, Christopher Staines, and Malik Ibheis.

Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams will be airing on Channel 4 in the UK later this year, and will also be available for viewing in the US through Amazon Prime.
