10.31.2012by: Eric Walkuski

Fans of anthologies - and V/H/S in particular - rejoice! V/H/S 2 has just been announced.

We'll skip the blather and get to the goods: who is directing? Here's your list: Adam Wingard (V/H/S, A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE), Simon Barrett (co-writer of V/H/S), Gareth Evans (THE RAID: REDEMPTION), Eduardo Sanchez (THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, LOVELY MOLLY), Timo Tjahjanto (MACABRE, THE ABCS OF DEATH) and Jason Eisener (HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sanchez is co-directing his section with Gregg Hale and also co-wrote it with his Lovely Molly scribe Jamie Nash, while Evans is co-directing his segment with Tjahjanto.

V/H/S/2 is being produced and financed by the Collective in association with genre brand Bloody Disgusting. The movie is shooting in LA, Maryland, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Indonesia.

In terms of a plot, V/H/S 2 follows a similar structure to the first film, with a pair of investigators discovering a tape while looking for a student.

We'll let you know more as this sucker pulls itself together.

Nice line-up of directors

although the stories i dug the most from the first we're from filmmakers unknown to me, this does lend itself to the idea that it could be less hit or miss than the first. Could be cool indeed! (btw that pic of Fierman is hot, she was also one of the best things about the first movie)

VHS 2 is a welcome coming attraction. I like that some of the original film-makers return to make a film of similar quality. I like that Eduardo Sanchez joins the project. He does found-footage right. I like that the anthology includes a wide variety of locations. VHS 2 should be just as outstanding as the first film.
