Voodoo will cast its spell on VOD in February

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

Voodoo has been playing a major part in horror films ever since the genre's early days, and it won't be missing from 2017's genre offerings. Freestyle Digital Media has announced that they have acquired the North American digital distribution rights to a new horror feature from writer/director Tom Costabile, a film aptly titled VOODOO.

Freestyle will be releasing VOODOO on VOD on February 24, 2017.

Produced by HyperCube Films, the film stars Samantha Stewart, Dominic Matteucci, Ruth Reynolds, Daniel Kozul, Ron Jeremy, and Lavelle Roby. It tells the story of

an innocent southern girl, Dani, vacationing in Los Angeles to evade her increasingly complicated life.  Once Dani arrives in Los Angeles, she learns that trying to escape her past is not as easy as she had hoped.

The trailer for VOODOO can be seen below, and I have to admit that my reaction to it isn't overwhelmingly positive. However, I am left wanting to know more about the creature that wears a suit of armor. Press materials refer to it as the Axe Demon.

If you're interested in VOODOO, you'll be able to see the Axe Demon in all its glory by the end of February.
