Warner Bros. wants "Glee's" Heather Morris as new Buffy The Vampire Slayer?

12.10.2010by: Jake Dee

Now that everyone's done venting about Warner Bros. decision to retool BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, who do you best see taking the role made popular by Kristy Swanson (big-screen) and Sarah Michelle Gellar (small-screen)?

One name bandied about by the studio is "Glee's" Heather Morris (pictured), so says an associate from Dolly Parton's Sandollar Production Company, previous rights holder to the property. Word is Morris' name has been mentioned a lot in prior weeks, and that's she's now being hotly pursued to play the part.

While the 23 year old Morris plays a high school student in the popular musical TV show, she may not have to stay that young in the movie (as Kristy Swanson did). The new BUFFY update will likely place the titular heroine in the days fresh out of college, where more poignant issues of getting a job and will backdrop the story. The hope is to, since Morris has demonstrated deft comic timing and limber gymnastic skills, keep the Valley-girl tone of the character more in line with the one Swanson portrayed in 1992.

Alrighty, so what do we think? Is Morris the perfect choice or is she already overexposed? Do you think she really has what it takes to inherit the mantle of Swanson and Gellar?

Extra Tidbit: Morris has some booty for a white chick, ay?

ANYBODY other than the original cast will garner no interest from me whatsoever and I think I speak for the vast majority of Buffy fans when I say that.

I think I'd prefer Candace Accola from The Vampire Diaries. She looks the part and on the show has a perfect combination of humor and dramatics whereas Heather from Glee seems to only do comedy.

YUCK

Doesn't matter who they cast as Buffy the movie will fail big time. If Warner Brothers were smart they would take a page from the series and get Joss Whedon to write the script. At least then the story maybe worth seeing

love her on glee but still dont want a Buffy reboot. and if you think Buffy doesn't need acting chops then you need to revisit the series.....some awesome storylines and acting throughout.

I'm with mrbrooks2013 Amber Heard would of been an excellent choice but it looks like they are going with the comedy route with this one in that they are going more with the original film and not the hit television show which is a bad mistake to me. I'm not looking forward to this one at all!

She certainly looks the part. And let's face it, playing Buffy doesn't really much in the way of acting chops.
