What movies are you watching this weekend?

This new column is pretty self explanatory. I'm gonna share with y'all what I'll be watching this weekend. And you share with us what you'll be tapping via the comment section below. So here it goes!

Obviously, it's Thanksgiving weekend here in the states, so that means lots of sitting around and doing nothing with yourself but watch TV and feast on leftovers (that includes the cheap wine your relatives brought you). So what movies shall be watched?

Personally, I'll be revisiting Michael Mann's THE KEEP (has been at least ten years since I last encountered it), as well as giving Victor Salva's ROSEWOOD LANE a look.

What movies are you going to check out?

The Keep is a nice bizarre classic, though I felt it was a bit too much of a product of it's time (style wise) and a remake could do it better justice - if done right obviously.
So far this week I've caught Psycho - original - JP3 and Halloween 4. Not decided yet on tonight's viewing.... Maybe another Hitchcock.

For UK viewers, 'The Keep' is on Film4 this coming Friday, November 30, at quarter past midnight. I'll be watching it; I haven't seen it for years even though I own a ropey old copy of it.

This weekend, I'll be watching a mixed bag including:

Conspirators of Pleasure
Deadly Friend
He Knows You're Alone
Lunacy
Ms .45
Surviving Life

The Keep? That's a blast from the past...

I have an old copy I recorded off TV on VHS somewhere in the attic, definately a unique and odd flick worth watching, just be ready for a giant helping of Tangerine Dream's score and should be all good. I'm just busy catching up on my Sons of Anarchy season 3 this weekend. Also all that Chevy Chase drama this week made me nostalgic for "Caddyshack" and I checked it out for the first time in years yesterday. Damn the was a mac daddy back in the day, I almost forgot!

That movie needs an great transfer.

I still have my bootleg DVD. It meets an new video transfer. I know Michael Mann disowned the movie, after Paramount made him to cuts on the movie to make it incoherent. It needs an Director's Cut or a remake.

The Keep needs a proper Blu Ray treatment. As for me, I'll be watching Top Gears (the UK TV show) in its various seasons. Other than that, I might pop in some of the new Scooby Doo Mysteries Incorporated TV shows as well. Some episodes are genuinely creepy.
