Such negativity was brought down on a Whedon-less BUFFY that the producers involved with the new BUFFY eventually approached Whedon to jump on board the project. So what happened? Whedon talked with Entertainment Weekly and had this to say about the transaction: I think that's something better left untouched by me. So, I wish them luck.
In other words, not only did he say no, but f*ck no! Good for him, considering they didn't feel the need to contact him before they announced the project and received such negative feedback. I literally don't know of a single soul who thinks this revamp of the series is a good idea.
