Wild Wild Girls: Watch a new viral video from Piranha 3-D’s Jerry O’connell!

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Good news for all us PIRANHA 3-D zealots hit last night, when Dimension announced they plan on releasing the flick a week early (from August 27th to August 20th). Well, TGIF…’cause good ol’ Jerry O’Connell is back to spout wise about his character Derrick’s sleazy ass endeavor, “Wild Wild Girls.” Y’all ready for a chuckle or two?!?

In the clip below, watch O’connell and his oily sidekick field a barrage of “fan” questions about the origins of the “Wild Wild Girls” video entertainment enterprise, why the name was chosen, the evolution of the business, etc. Funnily enough, these spots increasingly buck any real reference to Alexandre Aja’s retread of Joe Dante’s 1978 classis. I know going viral is the way to market a flick, but can failing to make mention of the film you’re pimping be a good thing?

Bloodying the tides August 20th, PIRANHA 3-D is set in In Lake Havasu, Arizona, when a tremor causes the lake’s floor to open, setting free scores of prehistoric piranhas… Theyre back! Every year the population of sleepy Lake Havasu explodes from 5,000 to 50,000 for a single, wild weekend – the 4th of July, a riot of sun, drunken fun and sex-crazed mayhem. But this year, there’s something more to worry about than hangovers and complaints from local old timers. Havasu sits in the crater formed by a prehistoric volcanic eruption, and when earth tremors tear open a crack in the lake floor, all hell breaks through. Piranhas – a million ravenous, razor-toothed monsters, unchanged since the dawn of time. Unstoppable killing machines acting blindly under one primeval impulse: to hunt down anything that moves and strip it to the raw, bleeding bone. In seconds.

Elisabeth Shue (love you!), Adam Scott, Ving Rhames, Eli Roth, Jessica Szhor, Riley Steele, Kelly Brook (below), Christopher Lloyd, Richard Dreyfus, Dina Meyer and Steve R. McQueen all fight for their lives in the film.
