Will Patton is on patrol in Blumhouse’s Halloween sequel

Will Patton

Character actor Will Patton has 100 credits to his name on IMDb, having had roles in such films as THE PUPPET MASTERS, ARMAGEDDON, THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES, THE PUNISHER (2004), and THE FOURTH KIND. Now he's adding credit #101 to his filmography, and it's on a project we're playing close attention to here – director David Gordon Green's sequel to HALLOWEEN.

There aren't any details available on Patton's role in the film beyond the fact that he's "a cop". If you're making a HALLOWEEN movie you have to have a cop in there somewhere, and if you need to cast a cop Patton is a damn fine actor to get to bring the character to life.

Written by Green and Danny McBride, the new HALLOWEEN is ignoring every installment in the franchise beyond the 1978 original, bringing Jamie Lee Curtis back to the role of Laurie Strode so she can have

her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Curtis and Patton's co-stars include Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen; Andi Martichak as Karen's daughter Allyson; and Virginia Gardner, Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid as Allyson's classmates. Original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle is back under the mask, with stuntman James Jude Courtney also playing the character for some scenes.

Produced by Blumhouse Productions and executive produced by John Carpenter, who is also planning to compose the score, HALLOWEEN is currently filming in Charleston, South Carolina.

The film is scheduled to reach theatres on October 19, 2018.
