Wrong Turn 2 helmer Joe Lynch directing single-room thriller Everly

Joe Lynch is taking a break from comedy-horror pictures and going the suspense-thriller route with EVERLY, a film set entirely in one room. Lynch created the concept, while Yale Hannon wrote the script, which was on the Hollywood Black List.

EVERLY centers on a down-on-her-luck woman, stuck in her apartment, who must fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss.

Crime Scene Pictures partners Adam Ripp and Rob Paris are set to produce. It’s only the second project for the newly-formed production shingle; the first is the high-profile caper comedy GAMBIT, which stars Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz and was written by the Coen brothers. That’s got to be a tough act to follow, so there’s obviously a whole lot of faith in Lynch and EVERLY.

Lynch and his team are currently looking for an actress to play the lead role. Production on EVERLY is set to begin this winter in New Orleans (where seemingly every single movie is going to shoot from now on). Lynch recently wrapped THE KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM and a CHILLERAMA segment.
