"X-Files" creator Chris Carter hatches mysterious new sci-fi series "The After"?

Per his reputation, "The X-Files" creator Chris Carter is keeping his new sci-fi series "The After" a giant mystery...

Still, it's good to see the man get back into the territory we all love him for. According to Vulture, the new venture is described as a sci-fi thriller about a mysterious event and, presumably, its aftermath. Again, a lot left to be desired, but also a lot left to the imagination.

Carter has his second feature film FENCEWALKER in post, but hasn't written anything for the small-screen since 2008. A lot has changed in the medium since then, I wonder if Carter will try to adapt or simply do what he knows best. Let's encourage the latter.

As for FENCEWALKER, it's been so low-key we haven't even written about it...and it's in post! Apparently it stars Katie Cassidy (below), Natalie Dormer, Theo Rossi, D.B. Sweeney, Austin Nichols and Xzibit.

More on both projects to come...
