It's the end of the world once again in the upcoming horror film HOSTILE, which was produced by FRONTIER(S) director Xavier Gens and marks the feature debut of writer/director Mathieu Turi.

Starring Brittany Ashworth, Grégory Fitoussi, and frequent creature performer Javier Botet, the film has the following synopsis:

A worldwide epidemic has killed most of the planet’s population. The few survivors struggle to find food and shelter. But they are not alone. On her way back from a scavenging mission, Juliette (Ashworth) has a terrible accident. Stuck in her car with a broken leg in the middle of an unforgiving desert, she must survive the perils of the post-apocalypse, while a strange creature prowls around.

Being stuck in a wrecked car with a broken leg in the middle of a desert would be bad enough, but who wants to deal with not just the end of the world but also a strange creature on top of all that? Juliette has her work cut out for her.

4Digital Media will be giving HOSTILE a DVD, VOD, and Digital HD release on September 4th, and a trailer has arrived online to help us start getting prepared for it.

Described as "MAD MAX meets RESIDENT EVIL" (which I thought some of those RESIDENT EVIL sequels already were), HOSTILE looks like it could be a decent watch.

Turi is currently gearing up for his second feature, a sci-fi horror film titled MEANDER that is set to star Berenice Marlohe.
