Zac Efron-starring The Falling taps Jeremy Lott for script duty

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Back in January we shared the news that Zac Efron had signed on to star in and produce the 'edgy' supernatural thriller THE FALLING for director Akiva Goldsman and Warner Brothers and that the hunt was on for a writer.

The idea for the film originated within the studio, which presented it to Goldsman and Efron. Goldsman and producer Joby Harold (who worked on Warners' upcoming Tom Cruise sci-fi movie ALL YOU NEED IS KILL), then hammered out a story and began the search for a screenwriter to take the story to the next level of development. Now Deadline is reporting that the producers have found their man in Black List screenwriter Jeremy Lott.

Lott made headlines last year when he co-wrote LORE with Black List scribe Cory Goodman, a script that Warner Bros bought for seven figures with Dwayne Johnson attached to star.

Every effort is being made to protect the logline of THE FALLING, which is being described as an edgy thriller centering around an otherworldly being.

Akiva Goldsman and his Weed Road are producing with Safehouse’s Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell and Efron, Jason Barrett and Michael Simkin through Efron’s Ninja’s Runnin’ Wild banner.

We'll keep you updated on news regarding THE FALLING as we hear it.

Zac Efron used to date Vanessa Hudgens. Lucky bastard!
