South Korean audiences are preparing to witness a zombie outbreak of blockbuster proportions when TRAIN TO BUSAN hits theatres on July 20th.

Directed by Yeon Sang-ho from a screenplay by Park Joo-suk, the film centers on

a group of terrified passengers fighting their way through a countrywide viral outbreak, trapped on a suspicion-filled, blood-drenched bullet train ride to the Safe Zone.

Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi, and Ma Dong-seok star.

Well Go USA Entertainment, the company that recently released the South Korean horror film THE WAILING, has acquired the North American rights to TRAIN TO BUSAN and plans to give it a theatrical release in the U.S. and Canada soon after it starts playing in its home country.

While we wait for further details on that, the trailer cut together for the South Korea release can be viewed below with English subtitles.

A word of caution: TRAIN TO BUSAN doesn't appear to be a zombie movie for viewers who firmly hold on to the opinion that zombies shouldn't run under any circumstances. I tend to prefer slow zombies, but I don't mind some fast ones from time to time (I can't bash the running dead because THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD is amazing), so this looks promising to me.
