Samhain Brou Ah Ah

And the
SAMHAIN (read
my review of the rough cut here
)
fiasco continues!

The shite has been hitting the shan since Warehouse
Films
(owned by Montreal Producer Bill Mariani)
sold the rights of the flick to Fangoria/Bedford Ent

(read the prior report here).

Problem is, writer/director Christian Viel (with
whom I’m slated to work with next year incidentally…I can’t wait!) never fully
got paid for his many duties on the picture. Hence by law he owns the rights to
the material. I predict a delayed release date on this one! Too bad.

Viel recently decided to go public with the more recent “low ball”
development and has just put out this doozie on his
Official Site.
Its getting ugly in this ring! Place your bets!

More
fun Samhain news. I got contacted yesterday by an agent from the RCMP (the
Canadian equivalent of the FBI) in regards to my selling of Samhain on my
website. Ironically enough, I had myself contacted the RCMP about 2 years ago in
regards to the gross fraudulent activities of Warehouse Films…

It appears
that William Mariani, the crook who is really behind Warehouse Films (and who
even tried to have my girlfriend deported!), hiding once again behind his long
suffering (and cheated on like there is no tomorrow) girlfriend-turned-wife
Natalie, has lodged a complaint against me to the Canadian Federal authorities.
I must say that the agent was an absolute gentleman and very helpful and I am
cooperating fully with his investigation.

Unfortunately, since Mr. Mariani failed to honor his financial obligations
towards me (a recurring trend for him towards countless other technicians and
artists), the RCMP will not follow the matter further as it appears that the
matter would be better settled in civil courts – unless I keep selling the film
after getting paid, which I have absolutely no intention of doing.

As I
stated to the gentleman from the RCMP and to Steven from Bedford before, I will
stop selling the film once I get my due. So Bill, the day you send me a check
and it clears – as we both know, dear Bill, that I have a nice collection of
bounced checks from you! – the film will be off my store. The ball is in your
camp, Billy boy.”

You know; finding financing, locking distribution and actually making a damn
movie is hard enough. Its unfortunate that this biz is filled to the brim with
treacherous and back stabbing clowns that make the process so much harder. Allow
me to take this opportunity to slap my own stuff out there; I’ve personally wasted
beyond valuable time, ample effort and mucho money
on dishonest Producers throughout the last 3 years of my professional life; trust me, its an
infuriating
ordeal. All that to say: I FEEL FOR YA VIEL! KEEP FIGHTING MAN!
