Harold Ramis' daughter gives her thoughts on CGI Egon in new Ghostbusters

It was just last week that we shared with you guys the news that Ivan Reitman - director of the original GHOSTBUSTERS and GHOSTBUSTERS 2 , and producer of the recent reboot and untitled new film - said the new movie may include a CGI-recreation of Harold Ramis' character Egon. I was on the fence about his inclusion after death, but today Ramis' daughter Violet Ramis Stiel spoke...

Ivan Reitman thinks another Ghostbusters film will be out in 2019

Paul Feig's 2016 GHOSTBUSTERS reboot was a troubled project from the moment it was first announced and met with a huge amount of internet backlash, which proved that fans take GHOSTBUSTERS a lot more seriously than I ever would have imagined. The budget was ridiculously high, the box office was underwhelming, and Dan Aykroyd has put the blame on Feig's shoulders, saying that...

Next Ghostbusters film could see the two teams go worldwide

Like many of you out there, I am a big fan of Ivan Reitman's original GHOSTBUSTERS flick. Hell, I even enjoy the hell out of GHOSTBUSTERS 2 ("It's Vigo!"). I wasn't a huge fan of the all-female reboot released a few years ago, but it had enough charm - Kristen Wiig is amazing - to not be a total waste of time by any means.  Yesterday was...

Reitman confirms there are still more Ghostbusters movies in the works

For years, the rights to the GHOSTBUSTERS film franchise were in the hands of director Ivan Reitman and Ghostbusters Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Bill Murray. This is why we never got a GHOSTBUSTERS 3, because all four of them would have to sign off on a project for it to happen. That's not the case anymore. Those rights have been sold and are now controlled by Sony/Columbia....

Ivan Reitman promises many more Ghostbusters movies

New word about the future of the  GHOSTBUSTERS franchise has arrived from a rather unexpected place... Although the 2016 reboot underperformed in the box office, it certainly wasn't as big a flop as it was made out to be. And according to producer Ivan Reitman, there might just be juice left in the property. In an interview regarding, of all things, SPACE JAM...

The Test of Time: Ghostbusters II (1989)

We all have certain movies we love. Movies we respect without question because of either tradition, childhood love, or because they’ve always been classics. However, as time keeps ticking, do those classics still hold up? Do they remain must see? So…the point of this column is to determine how a film holds up for a modern horror audience, to see if it stands the Test of...

Face-Off: Ghostbusters vs. The Frighteners

The controversy surrounding the film has made it pretty hard to miss the fact that this weekend marks the release of Paul Feig's reboot of GHOSTBUSTERS. With such a huge event ahead of us, the 1984 GHOSTBUSTERS had to be part of this week's theme, and I'm putting that Ivan Reitman-directed supernatural horror/comedy up against another ghost-filled horror/comedy, Peter Jackson's 1996 film THE...
