Hugh Jackman getting tips from The Rock for Aronofsky’s Wolverine

Normally, Hugh Jackman’s eating habits wouldn’t make for much of an interesting article but I’m pretty excited for THE WOLVERINE and thought this was an interesting look at what Darren Aronofsky has planned for the film. Jackman told Entertainment Weekly that in a recent meeting with Aronofsky, the director told him he wanted an extra 25 lbs of muscle on top of what he was already training towards.

Jackman says that’s by far the biggest he’d ever be and he wasn’t sure exactly how to get that big. So he did what any smart man would do: he called The Rock. (I mean did you see that dude in FASTER? OK, no one saw FASTER but trust me, he was jacked. Look at him in this video…)

So for all you Dwayne Johnson/Wolverine wanna-bes, here is your new regimen. Six months, one pound a week and 6,000 calories (six thousand) calories a day. But this isn’t like Ryan Gosling getting fat for THE LOVELY BONES and drinking melted Haagen Dazs. It’ll be a lot of chicken, steak and brown rice. (A LOT, I’d imagine.)

Jackman also reveals he was trying to get Aronofsky for X-MEN 3 and the first WOLVERINE film and now he’s “really excited” to finally be working with his friend.

I know X-MEN ORIGINS has a lot of people skeptical but honestly, I haven’t been this excited for a superhero film since…I don’t know, ever?
