Rambo pic Either Sylvester Stallone is feeling a little too nostalgic or he thinks the only way he can make money is to make sequels to the franchises that made him a star because he's apparently looking to shoot RAMBO IV immediately following work on ROCKY 6. He's quoted in "Variety" as saying:

"It'll be back to back. After I am done with Rocky, I'll go straight with Rambo."

They apparently also mention that there's presently no director attached but Stallone would likely end up writing and directing himself. While this isn't downright terrible news (hey, if the guy wants to make a sequel, why not?), what angle is he going with for the RAMBO sequel? He's already doing the pseudo-biographical "washed-up middle-aged veteran who wants to prove to the world he's still got it" angle with ROCKY. Will that be the overriding theme in RAMBO too? Or will it be a balls out action flick? Can he still even do a balls out action flick? If there's one thing nobody wants to see, it's his balls, that's for sure. What do you guys think about this? You wanna see Stallone become Rambo again?

Ford vs. Stallone
Harrison Ford is always in great films. Henceforth, bring on Indy 4. Rambo 4 and Rocky 6 are bad ideas. Most of Stallone's films are horrible.

Give me a break
There are lots of aging actors out there still doing action flicks. I don't hear anybody complaining that Harrison Ford is doing Indiana Jones again and I'm sure it is going to have it's share of action sequences. Stallone still looks good for a guy his age and I for one would still like to see him making movies and if starring as Rambo is what he wants then I'm all for it. I am looking forw...

I have never been a huge Rambo fan but it's his character and I wouldn't mind seeing him in those shoes again. Some are being way to hard on him for acting in action flicks because of his age when others are praised for doing the same thing. I don't get it.

Up next for Stallone? Over the Top 2!!! An aging arm wrestler needs to win one more tourney to show his college-aged son how to be a man.

C'mon, man. Let us remember Rambo for what he was -- a muscle bound dynamo that could kill an entire army by himself. Not a geriatric who runs out of breath walking up a hill...

John Rambo kills himself at the end of the novel, however, that ending didn't test too well with audiences so it was scrapped.

The group gets ambushed, the Engineers kidnapped , and John J is left for dead.

He wakes up in recovery and feels that he let down the people he was trying to protect. Thoughs of being too old for this job or physically unable go through his mind as he struggles to pick himself back up from emotional demise.

The news is showing pictures, videos, and profiles of the engineers held captive.

It appears that one of these engineers is the heir to one of the largest energy corporations in America.

However, our government will not negotiate with Terrorists.

John J sees this, and it brings back flashbacks from his POW days intertwined with the engineers current torture.

He decides to take matters into his own hands and does he thing…..through investigation and kicking ass he discovers a plot conceived by the high profile oil-heir engineer.

This causes him to make specific decisions that can jeopardize his personal mission….and the lives of those engineers held captive.

What should he do?

Uh...
Wasn't he supposed to kill himself in the early script for Rambo?

Yeah, that'd be a pretty cool ending.

Well...
...I think the only way a new "Rambo" flick could TRULY work is if they acknowledged what's going on right now in the Middle East. Not in the cheesy way they did in "Rambo 3" (which was essentially "Rocky 4" with machine guns--nevertheless that [link] scene was cool), but acknowledge Rambo is a Viet Nam vet--roundly named as a "bull-shi...

Not in the cheesy way they did in "Rambo 3" (which was essentially "Rocky 4" with machine guns--nevertheless that [link] scene was cool), but acknowledge Rambo is a Viet Nam vet--roundly named as a "bull-shit war"--and see how that figures into today.

"Rambo 2" was the best, in my opinion. Thanx in no short part to the script being co-written by James Cameron. It's not a masterpiece, except by the standards of '80s action flicks.

Rambo 4 isn't exactly on the top of my list of sequels to be made. That said it could be a lot worse. Like a Rambo remake starring Vin Diesel or any remake for that matter. At least Sly is trying to get back on top. I really hope Rocky 6 will be good. That's a story that could actually be interesting, Rambo 4 however...
Anyway, good luck Sylvester. You kicked ass in Copland!
