Linney joins Scarlett

Laura Linney has signed on to co-star with Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming Weinstein Co. adaptation THE NANNY DIARIES. The film is based on a novel by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus and follows a New Jersey girl (Johansson) who becomes a nanny to the wealthy elite in Manhattan including the difficult and demanding Mrs. X (Linney). As you may remember, Linney recently signed on to co-star with Philip Seymour Hoffman in THE SAVAGES. Professional that she is, Linney will film NANNY and SAVAGES simultaneously in New York. NANNY was written and will be directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini (AMERICAN SPLENDOR). Speaking of them, weren't they scheduled to direct a BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN movie? Whatever happened to that? Anyone who can give me an update gets a cookie.
