J.Lo in Ocean's 13?

Jennifer Lopez Yesterday, Variety confirmed that Warner Bros. had given the green light to OCEAN'S 13 with a July 21st start date for production. They further elaborated that as opposed to the previous films, this one would be shot entirely on a soundstage in LA and the entire gang had agreed to come back, with the exception of Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Most of us are probably wishfully thinking that perhaps Pitt could convince his master girlfriend Angelina Jolie to take a part in the film. But most of us also probably know that that particular fantasy is highly unlikely. So, who will be the new additions to the crew that will form the titular number? According to a secret inside source who I'll call Secret Inside Source, one of them might be none other than Jennifer Lopez. We don't know this for sure and it's probably best classified as a rumor at this point but if it is, what do you guys think? Can J.Lo go toe-to-toe with The Pitt and The Clooney? In the meantime, look for Jenny from the Block next in the drama BORDERTOWN and alongside her zombie hubby in the biopic EL CANTANTE.

I don't give a shit what anyone says about the Ocean sequels. Before I saw O's 12 all I heard from every single asshole was that it was shit. I couldn't believe it, so when I saw it I didn't love it but but fuck you I dug it. I'm definelty hip to this shit. O's 13? Bring it the fuck on. Jennifer Lo in it? Why the fuck not. She's awful in flicks like The Dreading Planner but she was awesome in O...

I dig it.
I've always thought Lopez had potential to be a fine actress, and she's proven herself pretty capable with stuff like THE CELL, OUT OF SIGHT, and ENOUGH (not the best movie, but she did her best). And I agree with jgm1976..I'd much prefer J. Lo over Julia Roberts any day of the week. Count me in, if it turns out to be true.

I heard that Ellen Barkin would be in this one and has a pivotal relationship to the Matt Damon character . . . I think is safe to assume she's probably gonna be his mother.

Lopez would fit right in, and definitely be an improvement over Roberts. A Clooney/Lopez/Cheadle reunion wouldn't be all bad, would it? Get Steve Zahn and Luis Guzman in there, and it would be a classic.

This is cool with me. I've always liked Lopez. And the last time she teamed up with Clooney and Sodobergh was in the terrific Out of Sight. So I'd love for Lopez to be in this!

First Ocean's movie was great, they missed it with number 2, and I don't have much hope for the third to be any better. Now J-Lo signs on? All I can say, in the most ho-hum voice possible, is oh, joy.

Out of Sight
Well, the last good movie J.Lo was in was a Soderbergh flick (excusing that Robert Redford movie she did), so it's only common sense that Soderbergh can get a good performance out of her as well.

It's funny, because I don't think she's a bad actress; I think most people are so turned off by her need to be in the spotlight so much, they just assume she's crap.

And...

And excuses like, "she'll ruin the Ocean's series" is bunk. I mean, did you see Ocean's 12? Not even Vincent Cassell could save it from being bleh. And that's saying a lot.

Umm, J-Lo has gone toe-to-toe with Clooney in OUT OF SIGHT...and she's more than held her own. Seriously, Lopez can be a pretty damn good actress, she's just picked some really shitty roles. OUT OF SIGHT is my favorite Soderbergh flick probably, along with TRAFFIC, and if true, it's good to see her reteam with the director who filmed her best performance.

Well...
I too hate all things J. Lo, but the last time her, Soderbergh and Clooney all got together the result was Out of Sight. If they can rekindle some of that chemistry, or put together something 1/1000th as fun as the trunk scene, maybe I'll give O13 a shot.
