Clerks makes Cannes!

It was a considerable gamble by The Weinstein Co. to forgo the Sundance Film Festival to debut CLERKS II at the Cannes Film Festival but the gamble has paid off. CLERKS II has officially been selected to screen at the Cannes Film Festival in the "Out of Competition" category along with films like THE DA VINCI CODE, X3 and UNITED 93. Specifically CLERKS II will screen on Friday, May 26th at the Debussy theatre. Surely Kevin Smith will be on hand with some of the film's stars to talk up the film and get the word out. Sure to screen CLERKS II for himself and likely to chat with director Smith will be our own JoBlo who will be bringing his trademark brand of shenanigans to the Festival for the third straight year. Sounds like a fantastic line-up this year (even more-so now with the addition of CLERKS) and damned if I wish I wasn't there to join him. Stay tuned for more Cannes coverage here at JoBlo.com.
