Die Hard 4 director is...

As if Len Wiseman didn't already have it real good - what with the whole married-to-Kate Beckinsale thing - it's about to get even better. The director is in discussions with Fox to direct the fourth installment in the DIE HARD franchise. As rumored, DIE HARD 4 (which has dropped the .0 after the 4 in the title), will focus on internet terrorists who lure Detective John McClane out of retirement. Producers have said they were looking for a younger director to breathe life into the franchise rather than an older, established action director. Wiseman's only two feature films were UNDERWORLD and its sequel UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION, both of which opened at #1. Unfortunately still no word on when DIE HARD 4 might begin filming but with a star, director and script, you would think it wouldn't be that far off (yet that hasn't stopped INDIANA JONES 4 from countless delays). Coincidentally (?) the news comes as Wiseman's UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION is set to make its debut on DVD in six days.

I agree with Beatowner.. why not keep the Directors who did it good? Why experimenting in what it was already great done?

Get a real director. I don't want no CGI in my Die Hard flick. Plus: the Underworld franchise sucks... That is no cinema to me. Wiseman should make video games (but I guess nobody wants videogames with no substance.) And wasn't "Die hard 4" supposed to take place in the jungle? Now that would be cool. Predator-style baby yeah...
I want it dirty, i want it violent and I want it now!

real directors
is it so hard to just pick a good director? does it have to be someone "cool" or "hip"? Where is John McTiernan? I know he made some lame ducks, but his 2 Die Hards are the best in the series. Shoot, get J.J. Abrams on it.

Len Wiseman - those Underworld movies were more about being goth and stylish than entertaining, they suck. McG - Goddamn then we'd have non-stop kicks and flipping in this piece of shit. Rob Cohen - You broke the get the f*ck out of here laws with XXX, and you probably ruined whatever else you touched, (Riddick?) At least Renny Harlin of Die Hard 2 made Cliffhanger and some other solid stuff i...

While I enjoyed both Underworld films (Evolution more-so than the first) I gotta wonder if he's the right man for the job. The Die Hard movies to me were known for just being raw and unstylized, almost a polar opposite of the Underworld films, and plus I'm not a big fan of Die Hard 2 (it's ok, but nothing compared to the original or With a Vengeance) which was the only non-McTiernan directed Di...
