There's no denying that having a creepy-looking kid with glowing yellow eyes against a disfigured Nicolas Cage is slightly disconcerting. It's also slightly confusing because it gives the impression that Cage mutates into some kinda monster in the film which, as far as I know, he doesn't. Although there's no doubt that him mutating into some kinda monster would, in fact, be awesome. Maybe that's where the creepy kid with the glowing yellow eyes comes in - she's some kinda demon-mutator-entity. Or not. Whatever it is (or whatever it's not), we'll find out when the film's released September 1st. You can also find out more about the film at its recently activated OFFICIAL SITE.

drezel, I agree with you
I am still in shock that Hollywood has chosen to remake this fantastic British horror film! and I agree with drexel, the original is creepy because everyone is so nice and 'normal', i mean there's hardly any shots at night time, a typical convention of the horror genre. In my opinion this film has nothing to do with the origianl, if you look at both plots you will see that the only thing these films have in common is the title and i don't see how this film could be called 'The Wicker Man' i mean, WHERE THE HELL IS IT! This film is so wrong.....f*****g Hollywood leave our films alone!

Why?
Why do they keep doing stuff to his face on posters? Remember the poster for Lord of War?

CRAP
I said it when the trailer came out and I'm doubly sure of it now -- this movie is so far OFF of the theme of the original that the title should change.

The original wicker man was NOT SATANIC...no kids with glowing eyes...in fact the little girl was as sweet as could be. That was the KEY to the creepiness of the movie...everyone was so "nice", despite what they were up to.

Eh, looks pretty good, fairly conventional.

Also, take a look at this....

...and try and tell me you don't see similarities. No, I'm NOT saying the movie ripped this book off - they have about as much to do with each other as Austin Powers has with Wolverine - but--, oh, you...
