Strike Back below!
by: JoBlo Jul. 14, 2006

We've been all over director Darren Aronofsky's latest cinematic incarnation, THE FOUNTAIN, from the start, from covering its SET VISIT to its TEASER TRAILER debut to its GRAPHIC NOVEL to its SCREENSAVERS to our interview with ARONOFSKY HIMSELF and everything else in between. Today, JoBlo.com gets the exclusive first look at the very awesome one-sheet for the film, now slated for release on October 13th. I was already quite stoked to see this movie before, but this poster just sweetens the deal that much more. Can't wait for this one and until one, I will update my screensaver to the latest trip from the OFFICIAL WEBSITE. Yowza.

The poster is majestically beautiful, but I wonder - what are those symbols on the bottom right? And what importance do they have in the film itself? Very intriguing indeed...

Holy. Shit.
I LOVE it. Sure, the tagline might sound weak, but this is Darren fucking Aronofsky we're talking about..definitely the best poster to come out this year.

neat
I dig the poster overall, but god, how absurdly weak is the film's tagline? Given everything that's been said about this thing, that's just about the most junior-high summation of the story you can do.

Absolutely beautiful. I was hoping that maybe Kent Williams would do a painting for the films poster, but this is more than spectacular!

Definitely very stoked about seeing this film now that it finally has a set release date. I like how it is rated R simply for, "Some Violence". Must be some violence indeed.

A WORK OF ART!!
This is by far the most original poster for any film released this year, a fitting tribute to the unique nature of this film. The art is fantastic. This is by far the most original poster for any film released this year, a fitting tribute to the unique nature of this film. The art is fantastic. This is, in fact, a perfect tease for my most highly anticipated film of the year, as just staring at this poster adds to my enthusiasm for this release. This poster is closer to a work of art than any other that I've seen, which is a perfect reflection of the expectations of the film. Even the tiniest details contribute to the tease, like how the years on the bottom of the poster span across the decades represented in the film (starting at 1500 and ending with 2500, with the year of release, 2006, bold in the center), which reminds the viewers that this is a story about different periods of time, with the focus of the film being the fountain of youth. I know that these are a lot of words to respond to a poster, but I was so impressed that I had to strike back. I can't wait until October 13!

Is it just me...
Or does the trailer and now this poster seem like it's drawing from the 'Tree of Life' story?

Regardless, I've been wetting myself for this film for months end. I can't way to be rocked by it.

That poster is just f*cking awesome. I've been curious about this film for some time now, and after reading the review at Chud.com (9.8/10), I think it's safe to say that I'm absolutely ecstatic! It looks like science fiction may finally be returning to its roots.
