Kevin Smith

Several reports coming from visitors of the Wizard World Chicago Con - including one from JoBlo.com reader Steve - have it that Kevin Smith revealed in a Q&A session that he would like to take on a horror film as one of his next (if not his next) projects. Allegedly, Smith was cool enough to release this tidbit even after winning a 2-out-of-3 Rock, Paper, Scissors challenge from a fan who inquired about his upcoming films. While this hasn't been 100% confirmed, there have been more than a few accounts of the news that have also been picked up by News Askew. It certainly would be cool to see Smith give us his genre take (the idea of filmmakers are considered to be auteurs, in some sense of the word, doing uncharacteristic horror movies is one that has always interested me), but let's hope that this project, if it is indeed true, will pan out better than that Charlie Kaufman/Spike Jonze horror movie. Stay tuned as this story develops and for possible word on it from our own Johnny Moreno, who visited the convention himself.

Extra Tidbit: Kevin Smith plays a mean Rock, Paper, Scissors. Also, his wife, Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, appeared nude in a piece for Playboy magazine to which they both contributed.

im going to be seeing him today, so im going to ask him. it would be interesting to see a smith horror movie as long as he doesnt divert from his trademark dialouge.
