Moore

The guys at FreezeDriedMovies.com have taken a break from unnecessarily but thankfully freeze drying imperishible items (because it's damn fun) to bring us this scoop: Although not an official announcement, it seems Joel Moore has been cast in a lead role in James Cameron's AVATAR. His part hasn't yet been specified but I don't see him as Jake, the the human parapalegic war veteran that's transported to another planet, so my money is on him being a member of the alien humanoid race, the Na'vi. Or, you know, just another boring ol' human. Whatever. Moore is perhaps best known for his role of 'Average Joe' Owen in DODGEBALL and he will also likely be seen in the slasher movie HATCHET once it finds distribution (check out The Arrow's review of the movie here). AVATAR starts shooting next month for 2008 release. Cameron also has BATTLE ANGEL on his plate as well as a producing/co-writing gig on SANCTUM.

Extra Tidbit: Don't quote me on this (quote IMDb), but James Cameron allegedly is the first director to film both a $100 million movie (T2) and a $200 million movie (Titanic).

True Lies was the first $100+ million film. I wonder if he will be the first to spend $300 million:)

The IMDb is always wrong...
...I forget what the first $100 million film was, but it wasn't T2--that was only $80 million (still a sky-high price for the time). However, they're right about TITANIC being the first to crack the $200 mil price tag.
