DreamWorks recently sent us this new pic of the princesses of SHREK THE THIRD. As the picture indicates, these ladies are ready to put the hurt on any baddies while at the same time breaking into exuberant song. Incidentally, the folks over at DVDRama let us know they've gotten a couple of new stills of the film as well and you can check those out by clicking on any of the ladies below. SHREK THE THIRD opens May 18th of next year.

Extra Tidbit: Besides Fiona, who's of course voiced by Cameron Diaz, the remaining princesses are Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Cinderella, voiced by Amy Poehler, Cheri Oteri, Maya Rudolph and Amy Sedaris respectively.

SNL ANIMATION!
I am not really a fan of the shrek series. Sure, the first one really set off the whole, adult themes within a kids animated movie (Yeah, disney did it, but played it safe)But they grabbed some Saturday Night Live Talent and added Jerri blank fromStrangers with candy! Lets hope they use these actresses properly and not screw it up...Oh wait! Justin Timberlake is still in it isn't he!?! Now I am...

Hopefully the lack of success for the 3D genre will bring back traditional animation. As for Shrek, saw the first one and liked it, got about halfway through the second one before turning it off, so I don't think I'll check out the third one.
