Strike Back below!

Is it just me or was the proposed SE7EN sequel one of the worst ideas in the history of man. It was supposed to follow Morgan Freeman's character as he investigated other crimes except now he was sorta psychic. OOF. Thank God that got killed. But I was always interested in the SE7EN world and wished that there was a way they could explore it more without it being super corny. I think we've finally found a way. Zenescope Entertainment recently pacted with New Line to release a seven issue comic series based on SE7EN. The books would be about each of the deadly sins and the tasks John Doe had to go through to carry each one of them out. The first issue, "Gluttony," is in stores now with more to come and features what exactly Doe does to the fat man inside his disgusting apartment. Below is the cover for that issue. Pretty cool stuff, huh? Thanks to 'Mathieu' for the head's up.

Extra Tidbit: One of JoBlo's infamous April Fools gags was the news that David Fincher would be directing a movie called EI8HT.

Stay Away
Part of why Se7en worked was because, Fincher let the viewer's imagination take over and fear what happened to the victims....the comic book is a bad idea!

Art imitates life...
Art imitates life and life imitates art. Or something like that ;) I think this is the first time I heard of a comic book adaption of a movie and not vice versa - or am I wrong? Sounds really cool and dark and awesome though. But right now I look forward to reading my first issues of Sandman and Preacher and 100 Bullets. So this will just have to wait...

Might be interesting, but...

...that cover is just a tad bit disgusting.
