Poltergeist Surprise, surprise, there's another horror remake in the works. Don't tell me you didn't see this one coming. The folks over at Bloody Disgusting are reporting that the previously mentioned sequel POLTERGEIST: KAYERI is being retooled into a straight-up near frame-for-frame remake of the seminal 1982 Steven Spielberg-written and Tobe Hooper-directed film. The film originally told the story of a family who are initially amused then slowly terrorized by a swarm of ghosts in their house and it seems like that's just about what we can expect from this remake. The original was also more than just a haunted house tale - it was a really goddamn scary haunted house tale that took you in directions you never expected at all. Let's hope they at least do that justice. What do you guys think?

Extra Tidbit: Spielberg's hands make a cameo appearance in the original.

NATION WIDE BOYCOTT!
Just stop going to see remakes. I intend to. Otherwise Hollywood will keep churning them out until they start remaking the remakes.

look on the bright side...
At least Hollywood is recycling in its own dumb way. Wasting $100 million plus or whatever on yet more unnecessary remakes and other crap ideas seems to be all that The Dream Factory is good at in recent years.

The only way to stop the remake fest is to vote with your hard-earned cash. It's simple: don't go to the theaters for rehashes. That includes remakes done by "reputable" directors or producers. For every remake you support, three more pop up in its place. I've been willing to make exceptions and see some of them (Dawn of the Dead, Hills Have Eyes, Texas Chainsaw), but unfortunately I've contrib...

You support one, you support them all (at least in the cash-crazed eyes of producers).

Can't wait for that Saw remake.

WTF?
This is just plain dumb. Poltergeist ranks as my 2nd favorite horror flick next to The Exorcist. What'll we see next? Star Wars, Indiana Jones or Back to the Future REMAKES?

Oh well, another remake. I don't care either way. Come on guys, we need to support to this so this generation will know about the Poltergeist franchise. I am excited to see what it will bring to the table. Plus, we still have the original, so why complain about it? This is the restart that series needs anyways. Just ask the Halloween fans on their official message board.

What the @#*&!
This is an outrage! Poltergeist was a great film. This is way overboard and rediculous. We as an audience wan'ts new and original. Not remakes of films we already love. We want new movies to add to those. Come on now.

No more remakes. I can live with sequels.

and lost off money

Not another complaint about remakes
I don't care about remakes. Studios can do whatever heck they want and so can audiences. What I don't get is the point of a "frame by frame remake". Did we not learn from Psycho?
