Nope, don't think the video look is going to throw anybody off. In all likelihood, actually, the new teaser trailer for David Lynch's INLAND EMPIRE will burrow into your brain box and Lynch you to the core. Russian movie site Filmz.ru has the spot available for download but, if you'd prefer to just give it a glom on YouTube, you can take your business HERE and let the unnervingly placeless yet ambient roars of dread lullaby you to sleep. Dark, tormented, cold sweat-inducing sleep, but sleep nonetheless. If you happen to be in the New York City area, you can catch INLAND EMPIRE this Wednesday, December 6th. If not, you'll have to wait as the film expands in the following weeks (the most notable dates being its official limited opening on the 15th and its wider release on the 29th). And remember, cheese is made from milk.

Extra Tidbit: INLAND EMPIRE co-star Justin Theroux's father is an author of travel books.

Laura Dern's been getting some serious raves for her performance here. Hell, she had to memorize a 14-page typed, single-spaced monologue. That alone should be her ticket to the Oscars. I can't wait to see what she and Lynch have done here.

interesting teaser, but...
...has anyone noticed the film's running time?

172 min

As much as I like Lynch, nearly three hours on DV with no script makes me a tad bit hesitant.

I guess this finally answers the question of what would happen if "Lost Highway" and "Eraserhead" ever had a twisted inbred love-child. I'm game.
