	Well, it looks like Disney is finally getting their shit in gear in terms of promoting the final installment of the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN series, which opens wide on May 25th. The first trailer has now been released and unlike the one they showcased last year for part 2, this one didn't blow my nuts clean off...in fact, it didn't even blow one of my nuts off. It was pretty underwhelming for me, and felt like a lot of rehashed stuff, nothing truly new or original or funny. Hopefully I'm wrong and the studio is hiding the truly cool stuff, but so far...meh. Then again, maybe I'm all Pirate'd out. I hear it also runs close to 3 hours. Yikes! What think you all?

Was I the only person underwhelmed by the second movie and felt that they dragged it out for waaaaay too long? I feel like they're trying to make 1 movie into two with these two Pirates movies and that 3-hour running time scares me. A whole lotta running around not really doing anything or moving any plot forward. But, I will go see it...What type of fan-boy would I be if I missed out on Depp etc.,

I so can't wait for this movie. I mean, it isn't any great series (not one of them), but I LOVE adventure movies, and there are just waaaaay to few out there... But gotta agree, this trailer looked very "standard" so...

I could sit for 3 plus hours of Pirates. I hope they don't change the style of what they have been using, the writing is very good and I love what they have done with these characters.

I'm with NONE of y'all - this movie looks every bit as intriguing and original as the other two, with some crazy and funny moments that will rock our socks off.

I loved the first two and can't wait for the third, but I also agree with brechtsky. The problem with these sequels is that you're expecting something as intriguing and original as the first, but we already know about the characters, and we've gotten used to them...so there's nothing particularly new. I still think it'll be fun, plus Geoffrey Rush is back!

It's a sequel, I think you're hoping for too much from a story that is clearly dependant on the former film. And honestly, I think you should have seen this coming if you've seen dead man's chest. I mean they left every plot thread open, and most more complicated.

And I think the trailer showed off a lot of great stuff. As already mentioned, that 360 dolly fight looked great, and on top of that, there were lots of new elements-- Like the scenes in snowy conditions, the underwater ship, the desert ship, the east indian trade company (or whatnot) controlling davy jones, the whole international pirates conference, and lots of the effects, like the toilet bowl flush and the end/ edge of the world.

Honestly, I thought it looked great, and more like the type of film I'd want to see than the predecessor... For some reason, I couldn't get past all the similarities to temple of doom... voodoo, tribal rituals, hearts beating sans chests, etc.

Looks great to me!
