Deadpool in Wolvie!

After a period with little to no news on the WOLVERINE movie, the scoops are coming fast and furious now. We reported last week that Danny Huston had signed to star as William Stryker and IESB followed that with news that Silver Fox had been cast. Now AICN has an interesting scoop on one of those superhero cameos that Marvel seems so hot on lately. You know that Robert Downey, Jr. cameos in THE INCREDIBLE HULK and Samuel L. Jackson cameos in IRON MAN but who will be appearing in WOLVERINE? Turns out that Ryan Reynolds will be playing Deadpool in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. It's probably one scene but something Marvel hopes can lead to a spin-off that Reynolds would star in. Rumors continue to fly that Gambit has been cast but first we need confirmation that Gambit is even in the script. Hopefully Fox will be kind enough to bring a few of us writers down to New Zealand to check out the set and maybe we'll find out what really is going on...

Side note...why is Marvel so good at getting these movies out and we only get Batman from DC...really..

I was only thinking yesterday that Deadpool would make a great edition to the Wolverine movie as he was developed from an offshoot of Wolvie's healing factor.Good casting call on Ryan Reynolds as he would be a perfect fit for this role unlike the rumoured FLASH character he was supposedly playing.
If anyone can pull off the wit and delivery of Deadpool it is Van Wilder himself!

Pretty spot on! His ability to deliver dry, sarcastic wit is perfect for Deadpool!

His physique helps a bit too I suppose.

Now I'm curious what kind of treatment they give his costume, if he even wears it in the film.

I really like Ryan Reynolds and his six pack. Seeing him as Deadpool in Wolverine no less, should help erase X-Men 3's bad taste.

Deadpool has been my favorite comic character for ears, Reynolds would rock as him, and the role only being a cameo makes it all the more likely that I'll finally get to see a DP flick someday. Friggen' awesome news...

Scoops on Wolverine just keep getting better and better, Ryan Reynolds is an awsome addition to the XMO:W cast, and the Deadpool cameo sounds freakin awsome! at this point i wouldn't mind a Gambit cameo as well, bring on Remmy! This is by far the best movie news of this year.

Thats awesome, I was hoping that deadpool would pop into this movie, considering that he was a participant in the weapon X project. I think Reynolds could definently pull off deadpool with a wise ass attitude.

Great choice he is for the role. Ryan Renolds would make the perfect Deadpool. I still cant belive Marvel is out doing DC at this moment with so many great movies.

I think he'd be a great choice. Reynolds is underrated and has a lot of potential. I would like to see a spin off turn into something major for him.

I too hope this is not a rumor. Deadpool is freaking great! I can totally see Ryan Reynolds playing the part too since he is pretty synical and sarcastic in most of his films.

Oh, PLEASE say this isn't just a rumor, because it's about as perfect of casting as you can get! (And if it's confirmed, then I'll be officially looking forward to "Wolverine" even more than "The Dark Knight!")
