Filming has completed on SPIDER-MAN 2 and Kirsten Dunst is off filming her WIMBLEDON movie and Tobey Maguire is getting ready to do the rounds for SEABISCUIT. So why haven't we seen one thing - other than paparazzi photos - from the film? Where's the first studio still of Spidey in action? Or Dr. Octopus for that matter?! And hell, they were filming footage for the teaser trailer in Chicago months before production actually started. So shouldn't we have seen something? Well yes, we SHOULD have. But we haven't and likely won't for some time. But it's beginning to become clear when we will. It looks like our first official glimpses from the film will be in the September issue of comic mag Wizard. And what about that trailer? Sony announced the first trailer will hit theaters in November. Now what big release comes out in September?...Anything? Any big sequel? Any final part of a trilogy coming out in November? While Sony won't comment, you can put good money on the fact that when you plunk your ass down to see THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS, you'll see the world premiere of the SPIDER-MAN 2 trailer. And as for a poster...I've heard there have been countless designs but nothing both Sony and Marvel can agree on. Sony loves one, Marvel hates it. Marvel loves one, Sony hates it. And besides, they STILL haven't figured out what to call this movie. One thing's for sure, it won't be THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. That conflicts with Marvel's comic of the same name. SPIDER-MAN 2 hits theaters exactly a year from today - July 2, 2004.
