I must not have been paying attention on the day they announced a remake of the 70s cheese-classic horror flick IT'S ALIVE, but it's apparently all done and ready to head over to Cannes looking for some attention.

The update of Larry Cohen's tale of family terror stars HOSTEL 2 cutie Bijou Phillips as a young mom whose new offspring turns out to be a homicidal mutant. That doesn't mean mommy doesn't love her little creature! Check out the new promo clip -- doesn't look half bad!

WTF?! This had nothing in it that reminded me of the original, other than the baby killing and the title. Wow....re-imagining is more like it....

Looks better than most of the horror movies that have come out this century. They also could have just gotten one of those preview geniuses to make it look this good. Horror has fallen to shit over the last 10 years. Oh well, not everything can be High Tension or The Descent.
