The Cannes pictures!!!

So for the 5th year in a row, JoBlo.com is down in the South of France, in a quaint little seaside village called "Cannes" in which every famous person (and their lovers) will be passing over the next 10 days. The Festival kicks off tonight with the premiere of Fernando Meirelles' BLINDNESS, which the Arrow will be checking out for the site. I was, once again, "restricted" from going to Cannes this year due to some last-minute f*ckups in my body, but hey...I'm not upset or anything, just terribly depressed, but hey...that's life, right kids! ;) (if I don't laugh about it, I'll start tearing down walls a la HULK).

That said, the Arrow was nice enough to take a slew of images from the infamous Cannes Croisette yesterday, and you can check 'em all out below. We'll likely have someone else out there to help him by this coming weekend. Either way, JoBlo.com is still gonna cover the shit out of all the interesting looking movies, along with anything else that our readers might give a rat's ass about. Sound good? Alright, let's do this!

That Jean-Claude Van Damme film is going to be awesome. It opens on June 4th in France. JCVD plays himself, washed up hollywood star who's become a joke to everyone, and so he decides to come back to native Belgium to forget about all his worries. But there he finds himself caught up in the middle of a bank robbery.
The first reviews in France are excellent, and announce a great performa...

No, the date is correct. In Europe they list the day before the month, unlike in the United States where we list the month before the day.

Actually, most countries use a different format for dating stuff (which actually makes much more sense than the way the US dates things). ...

Actually, most countries use a different format for dating stuff (which actually makes much more sense than the way the US dates things). 1-08-08 means 1st of August 2008. Instead of being Month-Day-Year, its Day-Month-Year on most international posters.

wow thats a shitload of pics
as always a few that i've never heard about. Besson is making Arthur 2 and 3, hope they get more international respect than the first one. What's Dragon hunter?!

Not totally sure if this is JCVD but a while ago there was a teaser for a Van Damme movie where he walks into a casting for a movie about himself and it was actually funny to see him trying to convince the director that he should play himself.
The clip was pretty good so this might be the Van Damme comeback that he's promised since... ever

I have GOT to get me to Cannes one of these years! In some ways, all the big posters are as tacky as hell. In another, more accurate, way...they're awesome!

My eyes were so stung from the enlargement of Sandler's crotch, that it took me a while to start enjoying the other pics. Sure wish I could go to Cannes myself some day.
