Spike Lee does Jordan May. 21, 2008

Spike Lee has announced that he is planning to shoot a feature-length documentary about the final two years of Michael Jordan's career, covering the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 seasons when he played for the Wizards. Apparently it will include "extensive unseen footage shot by NBA cameras during that time. "Mike wants to come to Cannes, so hopefully we will be here next year," Lee said.

The two already have a working relationship, as they collaborated on a series of Nike TV commercials. The NBA will be financing the flick, and when asked if this meant he would be just giving us a fluff piece on one of the greatest sportsmen that ever lived, Spike Lee replied "oh yeah", then nodded his head sarcastically and made mock masturbation motions with his hand.

Extra Tidbit: After rinsing the Celtics for 63 points in the playoffs, Larry Bird called Jordan "God disguised as Michael Jordan".

Why would you wanna see a doc about a great player like michael when he is on his way out. Seems kind of depressing to me to watch that sort of thing. I mean its like watch shaq play right now.

"Well Mars, I overcome the acceleration of gravity by the application of my muscle power on the vertical plane, thus producing earth to orbit."
"Woah Michael that's some serious smarts! Where'd you learn that?...

"In school Mars."

That's how I remember that commercial in my mind, at least.

This has me really excited. Jordan is by far the best athlete of my generation. There will never be another like him(sorry LeBron and Kobe). Nice critique Larry! I felt the same way.

Awesome but someday I would love a full biopic.

Hmmm last 2 years of his career, will Jordan play himself?
