Alba for Red Sonja?

Jessica Alba Last week, we told you about Robert Rodriguez and Rose McGowan ditching their plan to remake BARBERELLA and instead teaming up for a RED SONJA remake. However, according to pop culture media whore Perez Hilton, McGowan and Rodriguez, who've been romantically linked for a little while now, have split and that has apparently also ended plans they had for a SONJA remake. What's more, the studio is already moving on and are looking to Jessica Alba to become the bad ass warrior princess. Is it worth it just to see her strut around in something like say, THIS? Yup! What do you guys think?

Hells No!!!!
Alba has already f*cked up one comic book franchise by giving her usual wooden performance. So I'd like it she would just confine her lack of acting skills to bad horror movies and unfunny comedies starring Dane Cook.

Also, as she's getting older, she's getting harder to look at without the epoxy resin makeup they cover her in for movie shoots.

Alba did play Max, the lead role, in Dark Angel after all. Pretty sure she'd do ok as a hottie who can kick ass :D

How about....
... Zoe Bell? She could even do most of her own stunts. Mcgowen will do fine if this news is bogus. Get Bell as her nemisis.

As for Alba it would be miscasting, as she is cute, girlish and about a foot too short, where as Red Sonja needs to be sexy, womanly, and tall.

Ok, Alba is a hottie; an overrated hottie but a hottie nonetheless. However, she doesn't give me the feeling that she can kick my ass and that was a big part of what made Brigitte so hot as Sonja! They should totally bring her back to do a sequel called "Red Sonja: The MILF Chronicles"!

Haven't we had enough
I'm kind of really fed up with the action movie for chicks genre. it has never gotten very far. Most of them if not all of them are pretty bad and quite dumb. Why remake a bomb?

I have to admit, should this one go through, whatever I think about "Red Sonja" or Alba, it would most likely be an improvement over anything she's done in the last three years.

Off the top of my head I'd rather see Jessica Biel get this role. She's already fit as hell and would just need a bit of hair coloring. She was also a baddass with a bow and a competent fighter in Blade Trinity.

You guys (at JoBlo) are a little out of date with the news. Rose McGowan's representative has already stated that not only are she and Rodriguez together, but the film is still on - just yesterday!

Completely wrong for the role. They need a younger Lucy Lawless, or someone like Rosario Dawson or Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck from BSG).

Bad idea. I think Rose McGowan would have been perfect. Though, I think Alba is gorgeous, I think McGowan is a better actress, and would fit the part better

Poor Red Sonja. McGowan is bad enough. But Alba is way worse. This new Red Sonja could possibly be worse than the original movie. I'll stick to the new comics.

Alba could be good if this was boneanne the barbarian but sadly she just doesnt belong in a sword and sorcery flick except as some trophy prize for the hero. To be honest more people would prefer to see her naked so instead why not cast her in barbarella. She can get naked. She can fuck a few lucky guys. The studios can make a lot of money. Everyone wins. So why not do that instead.

I know I'm the one guy on earth who isn't infatuated with Alba, but looks or not, she can't act. Even when in good movies, she's still terrible. Imagine her scrawny body swinging a sword around. Awful. Just awful.

Give the role to a voluptuous woman with a strong body. Why can't the awful remakes at least try to be good. Why not try some inventive casting at least. Get Rosario D...
