Strike Back below!
by: Omar Aviles Sep. 5, 2008

The upcoming comedy MARLEY & ME stars Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston as a couple whose rambunctious titular dog teaches them how to live. It's based on John Grogan's memoir and, despite all that, the studio is apparently banking the film's marketing, as you can see from the poster below, on the adorableness of the dog, which is a unique strategy but may not necessarily give the box office return they're hoping for. Marley runs amuck on Christmas Day.

Extra Tidbit: MARLEY director David Frankel also directed THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA.

Couldnīt stand reading...stopped halfway through the book. This is just a lame atempt to milk money out of a successful book. Way to go Hollywood.

I'm a bit curious to see this one. I have heard good things about the book and I want to read that before I decide to see this movie. It's based on a true story so don't expect some corny movie with talking animals and stuff and unreal situations.
It's nice to see that someone thinks Jack Black killing a dog is funny. You're cool.

*sigh*
I thought this was for a Bob Marley biopic too.

Regardless, that poster sucks.

I'll see this if Jack Black turns up and punts the dog off a bridge, but otherwise, this looks like just another reason to hate the shit out of Christmas movies.

**SPOILERS**

The dog does die at the end. It's a true story too, so this isn't just to make people feel bad.

It teaches them how to live and they are all so happy, but then they'll pull a "Pay It Forward" moment and the dog probably die in the end. I'm getting that vibe...
