Strike Back below!
by: Dave Davis Oct. 9, 2008

If you aren't the target audience for the adaptation of the teen vampire love story TWILIGHT, nothing is likely to change your mind at this point. But if you're a fan, well then OMG prepare to moisten.

The movie, based on Stephanie Meyer's bestselling book(s), revolves around "new girl in town" Bella (Kristen Stewart), who falls for a dreamy but mysterious classmate who loves forests, fruit, flying on wires and facing off with rivals.

The all-but-definite smash hit arrives in theaters November 21st, several weeks earlier than originally planned thanks to the space left by the departing HARRY POTTER.

Extra Tidbit: If I didn't know anything about this movie, I'd assume it was a sequel to THE COVENANT but with vampires instead of manwitches.

I rather watch monkeys flings feces at each other for two hours than watch this shit!! A fucking vampire that looks like E.T.'s deformed son. WTF?

If E.T. and Luke Perry had a child it would look like that dude!

Clue me in.
The book that this flick is based off of may be as awesome as the insane internet fan base for it claims it to be, but this film adaptation looks really crummy.

The trailer didn't impress me, but it's pretty hard to go into this with an open mind since this is a movie I think most schmoes are hoping will fail. That being said Catherine Hardwicke's films have been pretty solid in the past (Thirteen, Lords of Dogtown) so I'd actually be kind of surprised if this completely sucked.

Either way, Davis is right, no matter how much some people would like to see it bomb, it won't. I don't think most people realize just how insanely popular these books are and how dedicated their fan base is. You should read about the experience Thoo (at least I think it was Thoo) had with the Twilight fans at comic con.

If this shit breaks any sort of record, I will be pissed. Having not read the book, I looked at this with an open mind and it's just... awful. A bastardization of the vampire story. If the reviews are strong, I'll give it a chance, but I don't see that happening.

The level of...
Corniness is too high. I mean it starts off a lil corny but keeps building up wit so much stereotypical dialogue I couldn't believe it. And the acting doesn't help...dammit that wasnt even acting, they were all acting like zombies with barely any emotion.
