$132 million. $100 million. $215 million. That's how much each of Tom Cruise's last three films have respectively made at the U.S. box-office...and that includes the supposed "bomb" VANILLA SKY! Let's face it, if there's any movie star out there that has the "golden touch"...it's Timmy Cruise. Come December 5th, Tom will be back on the big screen with something a lot more unique than usual (then again, I've always admired how he does, not only the typical "big-time" Hollywood movies, but also the more personal, ambitious ones every now and again), in a little something called THE LAST SAMURAI. Today, Warner Bros released a 3-minute clip/trailer from the film, a first-time look at what's to come. What's the film about?

Tom Cruise stars as Capt. Nathan Algren, a respected American military officer hired by the Emperor of Japan to train the country’s first army in the art of modern warfare.  As the Emperor attempts to eradicate the ancient Imperial Samurai warriors in preparation for more Westernized and trade-friendly government policies, Algren finds himself unexpectedly impressed and influenced by his encounters with the Samurai, which places him at the center of a struggle between two eras and two worlds, with only his own sense of honor to guide him.

Comingsoon.net also nabbed the first look at what appears to be the second poster for the film. I personally dug the first teaser poster much more, but even that one wasn't "all that". Hopefully, a third, final poster will be the winner. C'mon folks...this is Tom Cruise in a Samurai movie...gimme some sugar!!
