The American Film Market is coming to a close but cool stuff is still being released, like the below cast promo shot for the upcoming Rob Marshall directed musical NINE. In it, Daniel Day-Lewis plays Guido Contini, a famous film director trying to balance his professional life with the myriad women in his life, who, as you can see from the picture, include Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz, Stacy Ferguson, Marion Cotillard and Sohpia Loren. Click through for the picture big-sized. The singing and dancing begins December 11th of next year.

Daniel Day Lewis is in this film sign me up!
As the webmaster of the mafia/crime movie website [link] I must say that Daniel Day Lewis is one of the greatest actors of all time. He gets so immersed into his characters and literally becomes them on set. Daniel Day Lewis is one of the few actors who even with a seemingly weak script, can make an impact on any film. I would keep a watch on this one because with a superb cast including Daniel Day Lewis, NINE may be much more than we expect.

Oh God...
more crappy movies where people in the middle of talking break out into song and dance wihout anyone noticing. Chicago is way over-rated how many kids have seen that and refrence it today as opposed to OZ or Wonka. Remeber Dreamgirls? I didnt think so. A bunch of great actresses wasting there talent to be in a song and dance show just like when they were 12 years old dreaming about it. Good grief!

I cannot wait for this
I can't believe they are actually making this film. The stage show is ridiculously good. My only worries are that Nicole has to sing the song that this show is known for "Unusual Way", Penelope Cruz is in it, and it's directed by the man who made Chicago even more ridiculous than it is on stage. It they were willing to cut out Miss Sunshine really being a man in Chicago, what will they cut from...

If I remember correctly she really only has one or two times where she sings on her own and they are in parts of other people's songs.
