Jordan's Graveyard
Brilliant British writer Neil Gaiman was recently on "The Today Show" promoting his upcoming stop motion animated CORALINE and apparently mentioned that THE CRYING GAME director Neil Jordan would be adapting and directing THE GRAVEYARD BOOK, Gaiman's Newbery Medal winning novel. The story, which is sort of an homage to "The Jungle Book", follows a young orphan named Nobody Owens, nicknamed Bod, who is adopted by the occupants of a graveyard, as opposed to the occupants of a jungle as in "The Jungle Book". Needless to say, some freaky shit ensues. CORALINE director Henry Selick had previously considered doing a stop motion version of "The Graveyard Book" but it seems some people didn't like that idea. The aforementioned CORALINE is set for release February 6th.

Extra Tidbit: Jordan's last effort was the Jodie Foster starring revenge thriller THE BRAVE ONE.

I only wish more people who enjoy his work would read the authors that inspired him.
