So far the only thing I'm not completely sold on with the SCOTT PILGRIM movie is Michael Cera as the title character -- there really isn't anything on his filmography that demonstrates he possesses the amount of kickass required for the part.

But director Edgar Wright (SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ) will always get the benefit of the doubt, so if anyone can transform Cera from gawky SUPERBAD kid to a slacker/rocker who defeats his new gal's seven evil exes, it's him.

As he's been doing for a while, Wright has updated his Myspace blog with a new photo, this time of Cera (or some of him, at least) as Scott Pilgrim. Well, the hair and eyes seem fairly suitable.

Extra Tidbit: Now let's see him stomp prior love interests all around Toronto...

I just dont know
I agree that Michael Cera needs to branch out and try new things, then the Superbad type movies and playing a shy guy...but is this the movie the answer? maybe.

anybody just needs to watch that clip with Michael Cera trying to go all "Christian Bale" to realize he is a no-talent douche. That thing was embarassingly bad, and not even remotely funny.

Personally I really like the idea of Cera as Scott Pilgrim. Yes, he's been typecast, but he's a talented actor, is working with a talented director, and they're making a movie based on great source material. In my book that's a winning combination.

I'm still not digging the idea of Cera as Pilgrim but with Wright at the helm, I'll trust him...

Neat pic BTW, having a crude drawing by the creator himself...
