Spider-Man delayed?

Easy fanboys, Sony hasn't put the kibosh on getting Tobey Maguire in the red spandex suit for SPIDER-MAN 4. Fans of musical theater though should be a little concerned. Word is that the planned SPIDER-MAN musical - you know, the one with U2 writing music and Mary Jane as played by Evan Rachel Wood - is hitting some major snags. Rehearsals on the project were expected to begin in April but now they've been pushed back at least until the fall. The likely problem is they're making a Spider-Man musical but also that they've yet to cast Peter Parker himself. And if these guys are still candidates, they should keep looking. The musical, directed by Julie Taymor (ACROSS THE UNIVERSE), is now scheduled to open sometime in 2010. Now refresh my memory, why did anyone think this would be a good idea?...

jeez....
Why the hate to Raimi, who's responsible for some great movies? ( Evil dead anyone?) Don't you people remember that he didn't WANT venom in the movie but the execs made him do it? Take venom out of the equation and spidey 3 turns into a good movie, with a little more focus on sandy. Give raims a break people. lol

Spider-Man 4 being delayed is suppoed to be a bad thing? I was actually kinda glad when I saw that title. I figured maybe if it got delayed long enough Tobey would get too old and then Marvel would HAVE to reboot. Don't get me wrong, I absoluetly LOVED Spider-Man 2, but Spider-Man 3 just ruined whatever hopes I had for the character and especially Venom, a villain that I'd been waiting to see...

Seriously, Sam Raimi sucks balls and he wouldn't know a good villain if it charged at his face at a 100m/p. Screw him, screw the rest of them, and reboot Spidey 'cause everyone knows he's an awesome superhero. Have an Iron Man cameo...that would be amazing!

I would think the whole idea stupid, but don't put anything past Julie Taymor directing a musical. She is brilliant and can come up with some revolutionary shit. But I bet they are postponing it because the recession is hurting broadway something fierce

I can say that some people here, me included, care about the next Spiderman film. If the Spidey 3 movie ruined your guy's lives because you think it sucked, don't watch the next one. It's that easy..kind of a [link] thing.
