Strike Back below!

We tend to dish out a lot of shit to studios who release boring, Photoshop 101 posters with floating heads. So it's our distinct pleasure today to bring you an exclusive first look at something completely different - the poster for AWAY WE GO.

It would've been really easy to pose stars John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph in some corny pose (like this) but Focus Features wisely went in a completely different direction. Rarely do we ever get any hand-drawn posters anymore but this is a beautiful example of thinking outside the Photoshop box.

Directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes ("American Beauty") from an original screenplay by Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida, this funny and heartfelt film follows the journey of an expectant couple (John Krasinski ["The Office'] and Maya Rudolph ["Saturday Night Live']), as they travel the U.S. in search of the perfect place to put down roots and raise their family. Along the way, they have misadventures and find fresh connections with an assortment of relatives and old friends who just might help them discover "home" on their own terms for the first time. The movie features the music of Alexi Murdoch.

Pretty sweet. I like how Maya Rudolph is stretching her acting roles, she has tons of potential.

What JUNO poster used a hand-drawing style? And most posters, if they use it, just hand draw over an existing photographed image. If you look at the larger image, the entire background is a hand drawn panorama.

Bullshit
Almost every indie movie poster since Juno uses this hand drawing style. Because society is flooded by technology and people are yearning for the good old days. How Original! Maybe I don't get the Irony in the article but this shit's got Photoshop written all over it.
Plus the Poster sucks!
