moon

Sam Rockwell gets to put on a (nearly) one-man show in MOON, which finds him as a miner isolated on the lunar surface in the upcoming sci-fi movie from director Duncan Jones (son of David Bowie).

Turns out Sam's not completely alone during his three-year stint -- he's got a boxy robotic companion (voiced by Kevin Spacey)... and a few figments of space madness.

IGN has the new trailer, which looks pretty fascinating. Dig.

Besides...
...Bill Murray, Sam Rockwell was the only good thing about Charlie's Angels.

Nice
I'm damn excited for this one. I've liked Rockwell ever since The Green Mile.

spoiler?
From everythig I have read about this on this site and the synopsis on-line it seems pretty clear how this movie ends. He is obvioulsy going to meet himself at the end of his 3 year mission, he is some kind of clone used to do the work on the moon. So probably only has a life span of so long before they start "malfunctioning". Why do they give you so much detail without saying anything partiocu...

If you have watched enough movies its pretty easy to determine.

I wonder if Space Oddity will be in this. haha.
Seriously though Sam Rockwell is brilliant, he deserves more recognition for his performances.

Sweet
Minor Kubrick rips or not, it looks great. And I've yet to see a Rockwell performance I haven't liked. He made a shitty adaptation standable (Choke) and played Zaphod Beeblebrox about as perfectly as you can get. So he's forever cool in my book.

2001 meets Solaris?
Looks like someone took the two films, mashed them together and tossed in a hit-or-miss actor. Thankfully it still looks decent... I'm just worried it steals too much from its predecessors... a little theft here and there is okay but anyone who's seen 2001 will look at that trailer and see a ton of things that look like they were pulled right from Kubrick's film and recreated at a different angle.
