Shadowhare If you thought the Alan Moore imagined and Zack Snyder visualized dystopian world of ordinary folk becoming costumed heroes in WATCHMEN was relegated to comics and celluloid…you were wrong. It's real and gaining in popularity.

Meet Shadowhare. He roams the streets of Cincinnati in his home made costume looking to right injustice and punish evil-doers. He may not always succeed, he may be ridiculed and he may suffer significant injuries as a result but that hasn't deterred him from getting out there to fight crime. And he's not the only one. A growing number of ordinary folk are making their own costumes, giving themselves appropriate superhero names and doing their small part to punish criminals. They've even formed Alliances and meet in online forums to discuss partnerships, exchange ideas, get updates or simply just to shoot the shit with like-minded crime fighters.

So they've got the costumes, they're out there fighting crime. Now they just need to work on their taglines. Never fear, Shadowhare is here! Or maybe something less cheesy. Read more about Shadowhare over HERE.

Extra Tidbit: Now somebody just needs to step into a radiation chamber, get de-materialized, reconstruct himself at the atomic level and be reborn a naked blue demi-god.

This isn't anything new... Rolling Stone had a pretty good cover story about this a couple months ago. There are a shitload of these people throughout the country... and in some cases they actually work with police anonymously. I just cant wait til one of them messes with the wrong guy and gets himself killed, that will be the day.

No match
Phhh...
The shadowbunny is no match for the Illegal League of Evil. These puny lightweights think they can stop us from taking over the world?

holy toledo batman
It would be cool if someone with actual skill decided to fight crime, not just a bunch of pre-pubescent sounding dudes (and a girl). It'll be funny til one of them gets shot or something.

Actually, I suppose if you intend to make a citizen's arrest, it's actually to your benefit to have a concealed identity, since you'd be subject to civil litigation if the person turns out to be innocent.

Feels like the first chapters of Hollis Mason's "Behind the Mask."

This is all gonna be fine until masked vigilantes start either getting themselves in over their heads, or brutalizing perps. But until then, enjoy it while we can.

This actually isn't anything new
I remember hearing about the "real life superhero craze" a couple years back and it's really pretty lame. Most of these people are self-aggrandizing media whores who think they deserve publicity for very mundane things, (for example there's one "superhero" who's entire focus is serving as a designated driver. Yeah, it's great you do that and all but that doesn't make you a freaking superhero). ...

Of course, I'm sure there are actually some well meaning individuals out there but most of them seem to be tools.

If we had any bonafide crimefightin' superheroes out there, the media would have a heyday with them for a couple months and then the government banned them.

This isn't exactly what Bruce Wayne had in mind when he said he wanted to motivate people.

This will go on until one of them gets hospitalized for trying to fight somebody who isn't 15. Then it'll be outlawed to protect these jackasses from getting themselves hurt.

for real?
is this thing for real? if so, what does he do? save people from a tenement fire with the hare-ship?

most logical explanation for this would be Servo's guess, imo
