I'm pretty sure that very few people will know what the hell is being advertised in these posters, but nonetheless the DISTRICT 9 people are doing their best on the promotion end. Still, if they really want to push this thing, they should take out ad space on Kobe Bryant's frown. I've seen that guys face more than my own this week.

just had a great idea for a lill neat story, fake ads begin to appear on streets promoting this kind of movie and some unaware begin to loose it and within an hour, think Orsen well's radio broadcast of the alien invasion meets modern day terror threats.

cool stuff here

Lifes a garden, dig it.
Yeah Im down with Peter Jackson presenting an alien film. The character design is good considering there are no boundaries when it comes to aliens. They dont look goofy but they dont terrify either. Im excited to see this.

CLEVER PRINT MARKETING...
But maybe TOO clever, much like True Blood's great campaign last year. I saw one of the signs on a bus stop bench today in LA and it required a few moments for my friend to realize it was advertising a movie.

I'm sure more people care about the aliens in this film but I think more the interesting aspect of this movie is the humans. In the trailer the alien talks about how they wanted to leave and they are only here because they were crashing but we won't let them go. As far as a design goes for the aliens, it is hard to make an alien that doesn't look like anything from Star Wars or MIB.

I like it
They don't need to be a mystery - it's obviously not that kind of film. Seems a bit like E.T. meets Hotel Rwanda. The design is almost inconsequential, what's important is what is being said. Having said that, I like them - they're human enough to empathise with but weird enough to not be a lazy 'pointy ear job'.

A little straight forward. I wish the promos hadn't spoiled them. Since the trailer's mysterious mockumentary of social unrest with a twist ending was awesome, i kinda wish the film would follow that same plot and not reveal the aliens 'til the end of the film. But they DO need to generate interest. I just want to know what's going to happen in the film if the alien twist isn't it. Has the whol...

The alien design reminds me of a cross between a cockroach and the bug aliens from Attack of the Clones (which they sound exactly like, they also sound like the aliens from Signs).

Even tho the design looks kinda unoriginal and lame this movie looks fantastic.
